Synopsis: Meghan Chase used to be an ordinary girl...until she discovered that she is really a faery princess. After escaping from the clutches of the deadly Iron fey, Meghan must follow through on her promise to return to the equally dangerous Winter Court with her forbidden love, Prince Ash. But first, Meghan has one request: that they visit Puck--Meghan's best friend and servant of her father, King Oberon--who was gravely injured defending Meghan from the Iron Fey.
Yet Meghan and Ash's detour does not go unnoticed. They have caught the attention of an ancient, powerful hunter--a foe that even Ash may not be able to defeat....
Review: This is a short story meant to bridge the first two Iron Fey books. It felt just like a continuation of the first book, starting off only a few minutes after the first book ended. It was a satisfying read, short but full of action. I enjoyed the story, but I don't know why it wasn't included in one of the main books. A wolf is chasing Meghan and Ash as they are on their way to the Winter Court. The wolf was pretty terrifying, and so was Ash's lack of loyalty. Come on, Ash! Grow a backbone already!
Quick Review: If you've read the first book and intend to read the second, I would definitely recommend that you read this in between. It seems to me that what happens in the novella is important to the overall story of the Iron Fey series. Fans of the first book won't be disappointed, it feels just like a continuation.
