Synopsis:Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She's spent years keeping everyone at a distance—even her closest friends—and it seems her senior year will be more of the same...until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can't seem to stay away from him. What she doesn't know is that Luc works in Acquisitions—for Hell—and she possesses a unique skill set that has the King of Hell tingling with anticipation. All Luc has to do is get her to sin, and he’s as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn’t stand a chance.

Unfortunately for Luc, Heaven has other plans, and the angel, Gabe, is going to do whatever it takes to make sure that Luc doesn’t get what he came for. And it isn't long before they find themselves fighting for more than just her soul.

But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay…for all of them. (Goodreads)

Initial Thoughts: The cover is really cheesy and Frannie has a weird look on her face, but I love the synopsis and the reviews were pretty good, so I picked it up.

Review: First off, this is a Paranormal Romance, emphasis on the Romance. There is quite a bit going on other than which guy she'll pick, but it takes the back burner to the love triangle, which I didn't really mind. Luc opens the book up and he's a great character: unapologetically evil. It was a lot of fun to get into his head and very interesting to see his thoughts as he began to change. Gabe could be a bit dull, but he was starting to get interesting by the end of the book. I'm excited to see where things go.

I don't want to give anything away, but the "something different" about Frannie is awesome. There are so many possibilities! And the references to people in the past with the ability....wow. There's a bit of blasphemy in there, to anyone who's sensitive about that kind of thing, but it's not a big deal. (I only realized later what they were implying.)

The start was a bit slow, and I thought that it would be just another paranormal romance (fun, but no lasting impression) up until we learned what exactly was going on with Frannie. Then I realized that there was a lot more going on...a lot more was changing. I can't do it! I can't explain how awesome this book became without telling you why. I have really high expectations for the next two books!

Quick Review: This book is more than it seems, behind the lame cover and seemingly run-of-the-mill love triangle lurks an amazingly original plot. Give this one a try and you won't regret it- plus it's already out in paperback!
